National Relaxation Day (August 15th) isn’t about canceling your calendar or pretending the stress doesn’t exist. It’s about making space for small, intentional pauses that give your brain and body a reset. At Officewell, we make it easy for teams to do that without the fuss. Our marketplace connects Members with vetted Partners who run experiences designed for wellness, team bonding, and all the in-between moments that tend to fall off the radar.

Whether your team is in the office, hybrid, or remote, giving people permission to stop for an hour or two and recenter can shift the entire energy of the week. And no, these don’t need to involve a single trust fall.

Here are a few experiences that actually help people breathe a little easier. You can explore more of them here. Want to know why this matters in the workplace? The science behind relaxation and stress recovery is pretty clear—even 10 minutes of pause can improve cognitive performance and wellness.

Why Schedule Relaxing Experiences for National Relaxation Day

Teams oftentimes don’t need another motivational quote or mindfulness Slack channel. They need actual space to breathe. Not forever, just a pause long enough to reset. When people spend all day toggling between stress and more stress, it’s easy to get lost and forget what regulated feels like.

That’s where an in-touch, well-timed experience comes in. It cuts through the noise. It lowers the baseline. And when it’s done right, it doesn’t feel like a wellness campaign. It actually just feels better than another hour of screen time.

FAQ: National Relaxation Day Experiences

Are these in-person only?

Not at all! Many of these Experiences can be adapted for remote or hybrid teams. Experiences like sound healing, manifestation, and candle making work well virtually.

How long do they take?

Most are 30-90 minutes. Massage and animal visits can run in time blocks so people rotate in as schedules allow.

How far in advance do we need to book?

At least two weeks out is ideal, but some Partners can accommodate faster turnarounds. You can always contact us to check availability.

What if people don’t want to participate?

No pressure. These are opt-in, but we’ve found even the skeptical types usually relax into it once they’re there.

Do we need to bring supplies?

Nope! Our Partners provide all materials. Massage chairs, candles, puppies, you name it.
